The Maybourne Group, Itanda, and Studio Mercy reached out to us with the intention of exploring and redefining the role of sensory design in wellness, placing it at the core of a thoughtfully designed space dedicated to healing and restoration at Surrenne Spa. We developed an innovative interactive sound experience. Every auditory element was crafted with meticulous attention to detail, designed not merely as enjoyable background music but as a functional sound environment that actively guides guests into deep states of relaxation and transformation. Additionally, we implemented Sonic Branding for the exclusive wellness members club series and enhanced the treatment rooms with advanced vibroacoustics and immersive quadrophonic sound systems, further elevating the overall experience.
The therapeutic benefits of sound are well-documented, and Surrenne Spa leverages this science to offer sound as a “healthy supplement” for guests. Key to this offering is our innovative use of machine learning algorithms, and nature-inspired soundscapes grounded in neuroscience and Antonovsky’s Salutogenic model, such as:
Surrenne Spa goes beyond the concept of a traditional wellness members club; it serves as a pioneering force in sensory design and wellness, inviting guests to embark on a transformative journey into tranquility that transcends everyday life. We activated the lobby, pool, treatment rooms, and several shared spaces to create a cohesive sound environment throughout the spa.
In the treatment rooms, each soundscape aligns with the body’s natural circadian rhythms, evolving from day to night to provide the right sound stimulus at each stage of the guest experience. This immersive journey is enhanced by a quadraphonic sound system for layered auditory experiences, along with vibroacoustic technology that allows guests to not only hear but also feel the therapeutic sounds.
